Airport
The Airport is the lobby area in PEAK. Players are brought here when starting a new game or finishing one. It is the only location where players cannot receive any status effects. It is also the only location where you can't store items.
Players in the Airport are given a
Passport which allows them to customize their Scout's appearance, including their skin color and cosmetics. A number of numerous side-activities can also be done inside the Airport while waiting for a game to start.
The Airport belongs to a fictional company called "BingBong Airlines".
Features
Elevators
All players initially spawn in an elevator when entering the Airport. The elevator's doors are initially closed and open after a couple of seconds.
Mirror
The mirror located on the wall opposite to the Gate Kiosk allows players to see their Scouts and their emotes.
Photobooth
The photobooth located to the right of the mirror allows players to take images of themselves by interacting with a special Kiosk inside. Once interacted with, a 3 second countdown will begin before taking a picture. A total of four pictures are taken at a time and when presented to the player in-game a screenshot will automatically be taken.
There are also a few items that can be picked up and interacted with on the floor of the photobooth, including one of each:
Binoculars (does not switch camera to look through the lenses)
Bing Bong (will face away from the player holding it)
Big Lollipop (cannot be licked, despite displaying the prompt to lick it)
Bugle (does not produce sound)
Conveyors
Two conveyor belts going in opposite directions are located in the middle of the room. Scouts standing or ragdolling on them are slowly moved in the corresponding direction.
Chess board
To the right of the conveyor belts is a large chess board that players may use to play chess. Two additional Queens can be found to the left of the chess board, one black and one white. Each piece can be picked up and dropped by a scout.
Basketball court
A miniature basketball court can be found at the opposite end of the airport, in the left corner. It features a basketball hoop with a row of four basketballs placed in two small trays for the Scouts to pick up. Scouts will automatically dribble the basketballs when walking or running with them. When any object, not just the basketballs, is thrown into the hoop, a sound effect will play and confetti will rain down from the hoop.
Kiosks
The Airport houses three interactable Kiosks, each having their own purpose:
- The Gate Kiosk allows the player to start the game and send all connected players to the Shore, as well as choose what Ascent to play on.
- The Invite Kiosk allows the host to invite their Steam friends to the lobby, bringing up Steam's friends list when interacted with. The Invite Kiosk currently does nothing in offline/solo mode.
- The Photobooth Kiosk allows any player to start the photobooth timer.
Climbing wall
To the right of the starting elevators is a white indoor climbing wall, allowing Scouts to practice their climbing while waiting for the run to begin. It also sports a rope to climb on as well.
Trivia
- The rope will fail to spawn after having started a run and then returning back to the airport (via the run ending), causing it to appear only as a tiny static piece of rope attached to the top hook. Without the rope, it is only barely possible to scale the climbing wall from specific angles.
- The departure times board shows Morse Code for the developers' names:
--.. --- .-. .-. ---"ZORRO"-.-. .- . .-.. .- -."CAELAN".--. . - - . .-."PETTER". .-. .. -.-"ERIK"-. .. -.-. -.-"NICK"--. .- .-.. . -."GALEN".-- .. .-.. .... . .-.. --"WILHELM"
- An A-posing model of Scoutmaster Myres can be found in a normally inaccessible room.
Gallery
- An A-posing model of Scoutmaster Myres found out of bounds.
