The Flare is a consumable item in PEAK. It can be found at the crash site, in Luggage, and in a small crate full of them at the PEAK while not doing Ascent 4+.
A flare can be lit to display a tall column of colourful smoke matching the colour of the scout who uses it. Lighting a flare at the PEAK signals the rescue helicopter, completing the expedition.
Cooking a flare causes it to explode, dealing up to 
20 Injury to scouts within 4.8 meters, depending on distance.
