Island
The Island is the world of PEAK (not including the Airport). It consists of 6 different biomes (out of 8 total).
The Island changes every 24 hours at 17:00 UTC to generate a new climbing experience. The pool of available maps is predetermined and consists of 14 different randomly generated[1] maps (as of 1.28.a). These maps are pregenerated by the developers and released alongside updates and patches. The developers have claimed they do not check whether a given mountain is climbable or not.[2][3]
If the daily map changes during an ongoing expedition, the game continues as normal without changing the map. However, all subsequent expeditions after the map reset will instead use the new daily map.
The daily map can be changed with the use of modifications, such as MorePeak.
While there are 8 biomes in the game as of 1.40.a, the Island consists of just 6:
Trivia
- Map generation requires the use of the RTX technology to bake the lightmaps used by the game for lighting and certain mechanics, such as the Alpine's blizzards.
- PEAK meters are actually smaller than Unity meters: 1 Unity meter is 1.6 PEAK meters, which makes the Peak biome's actual height 1200 Unity meters.

- ↑ There have also claimed to have received no reports of impossible maps, which can be attributed to the wide variety of equipment the game provides.
