Shroomberry
Shroomberry is a type of food found in the Roots. Consuming a Shroomberry produces a random effect that depends on the map and Shroomberry type. The effect of a Shroomberry type is consistent in each map.
The Shroomberry has the following variations:
Eating (or feeding another player) all 5 types of Shroomberry in a single expedition grants the player the
Advanced Mycology Badge.
Although the name may suggest otherwise, Shroomberries are not considered mushrooms for the purposes of the
Mycology Badge. They do, however, count as berries towards the
Foraging Badge.
Effects
Out of 10 possible effects at least 2 good and 2 bad effects are chosen for the current map's Shroomberries. In addition to an effect, each Shroomberry gives 0–20
Bonus stamina,
5 Spores, and removes
10 Hunger.
The effects of Shroomberries are tied to the current map.
As of 1.43.a,
Red and
Yellow Shroomberries are guaranteed to have good effects,
Green and
Blue Shroomberries are guaranteed to have bad effects,
Purple Shroomberries can have either a good or a bad effect.
Good effects
- Infinite stamina for 4 seconds after a 3 second delay (similar to a
Big Lollipop or
Bugle of Friendship). - +150% faster climbing speed and +50% movement speed for 5 seconds (similar to an
Energy Drink). - Wind walk for 15 seconds after a 3 second delay.
- Invincibility for 10 seconds.
- Remove
15 Hunger (in addition to the base nutritional value, total of 25),
15 Injury,
15 Poison,
15 Spores, and all poison-over-time effects (including zombie bite).
Bad effects
- Create a loud fart with particles after 3 seconds that launches all nearby scouts.
- Blind the player for 60 seconds after a 3 second delay.
- Make the player ragdoll after a 3 second delay, and prevent them from standing up for 8 seconds.
- Inflict
25 Spores in addition to the base
5 Spores (30 in total). - Make the player Numb for 60 seconds after a 3 second delay.
Cooking a Shroomberry removes the base
5 Spores, in addition to the default effects.

1.44.a (2025-11-13):
- Fixed shroomberries spawning on the wrong side of the vine.
