The Book of Bones is a consumable mystical item in PEAK. It can be used to turn dead players (and alive ones) into skeletons. The The Book of Bones can only be acquired from Ancient Statues and Ancient Luggage.

Cooking The Book of Bones causes it to remove  25 Curse instead of adding it when used.

Using The Book of Bones on another player grants the  Applied Esoterica Badge.

Effects

The Book of Bones can be used once either on the player wielding the book, or on another player's dead skeleton. The affected player will turn into a walking skeleton, removing all status effects except  Curse.

If a player uses The Book of Bones on themselves they will receive  25 Curse. However, if the player is already a skeleton, they will turn back into a normal Scout and have  25 Curse removed from their stamina bar.

Using The Book of Bones on another player applies  5 Curse instead of 25.

As a skeleton, players will be immune to all effects except  Injury and  Curse. Any injury received will be increased x8, making fall damage, lava, and other injury sources extremely dangerous to them. The fog will slowly deal injury to skeletons instead of  Cold.

Skeletons do not fall unconscious and instead die immediately, scattering their bones as if by an explosion.
